IMMORTALITY Trapped in the shadows of this feeling An emptiness that has brought me nothing Feeling lonely in the mist of plenty Alone in a crowd so many Trying to bear the urge to fall Telling myself that I can ’ t do it before all Smiling while engulfed in bitter tears Laughing when my sorrows beget fear My loud scream falls to silent slumber As the world around me seems not to bother The scars refuse to heal My soul now fails to feel I write in tears since no one can see I write in anguish since no one sees me They say change is the daughter of inevitability But my pain seizes to leave as it has gained immortality.
