60 SECONDS
60 SECONDS
We all run with hopes of getting to our
destination
Time seems to be the only factor that serves as a
limitation
We pray for a reason not to fail
Forgetting that success is a prisoner who demands
an expensive bail
Help is a shelter stuck in a safe
But safety has nothing to do with a home trapped
in a grave
With all put in place for the journey ahead
Something seems absents, something unsaid
It’s no surprise that we crave the love of the unseen
It has always been our nature to seek what we feel
had been
But what then do we lack that birth this emptiness
What could be the cause of this feeling of nothingness?
We’ve searched our heart within and found nothing
We’ve searched our soul and seen nothing
The race we say must continue and so we run
Our race has no business with leisure or fun
Right before our eyes we see our brothers’ rise and fall
Our loved ones thrown around like misplaced balls
We are dedicated and committed to the cause
But our cause is also our curse
In time as time will tell us, we will come to
understand
But for now on this front line we must stand
Our destination still lies far from our eyes
But we know the gate home will be shut
Once again time is our limitation
Once again what we seek is our destination
Now, how can we walk a thousand miles in 60 seconds?
